Cheap and Cheerful

The retail downturn may well be on the mend, but regardless, there has been one clear trend through the whole episode, and that is the strong results for "budget" retailers. JB HiFi has defied the trend of flagging retail sales, as has Chemist Warehouse. Now another low price retailer, The Reject Shop, has posted a 13.9% rise in annual profits for the last financial year.

On top of that positive news they also plan to open 23 new stores in the first half of 2010. It certainly gives credence to the term "Cheap and Cheerful".
